This checkered Beni Ouarain wool pouf is handwoven by women in Morocco. No two pieces are ever identical: each one is unique by definition.

The raised checkered pattern provides a clear visual structure with a graphic design that is never overwhelming. The raw, untreated sheep's wool offers natural warmth that develops over time, with a texture that becomes softer with use.

We make our poufs from new or vintage rugs, handwoven with the same artisanal standards. It is best suited to light, beige, or mineral-toned floors: the checkered contrast adds rhythm without weighing down the overall look.

Square Pouf for Living Room and Bedroom: Extra Seat or Footrest

Chemically untreated Beni Ouarain wool offers soft, breathable comfort. Its natural temperature-regulating properties make it pleasant to use every day: cozy in winter and temperate in summer.

The women of this tribe work with dense, vibrant wool. The cover retains its textured feel and full-bodied texture, even after regular use.

In the living room, placed near an armchair or sofa, it serves as a stable footrest. Around a coffee table or in a sparsely furnished room, it becomes an extra seat; in a bedroom, it adds a calm, graphic textile accent.

When choosing, we recommend first deciding on its main function: a soft seat, footrest, or decorative accent. Beni Ouarain complements a minimalist interior; a flatter kilim pouf is better suited to a graphic interior, while our Azilal variants provide a bolder contrast.

Pouf sold without a filling insert. The empty 60 x 60 cm cotton inner cover, handmade, must be ordered separately. Its zipper allows it to be filled or emptied; it holds approximately 100 liters of polystyrene beads, which are not included.

Pour the beads in gradually to adjust the firmness of the seat:

• 60 to 70 liters, or two-thirds capacity: medium firmness
• More beads: firmer support; fewer beads: a softer seat
• Beads can be replaced when they become compressed after several years of regular use
• Cotton cover machine washable at moderate temperatures

To care for the wool cover, we recommend vacuuming regularly without a rotating brush. Spot clean stains with a damp cloth and mild soap, avoiding prolonged moisture and harsh rubbing. For deep cleaning, professional dry cleaning remains the best solution.
